Quality Jiggs Hay For Quality Horses and Cattle

Even before we planted our Jiggs Hybrid Bermuda hay, we had quality production in mind. Because exceptional hay requires excellent drainage, special attention was given to land preparation and land forming. We precision graded nearly 500 acres using Laser controlled land forming equipment. Hay that stands in water whether because of rain or flood irrigation, suffers, is stressed, and will have less nutrient value. The new technology used in the design process at Windmill Farms insures that every acre has optimum drainage, which makes for top quality hay.

Steven Noisier, one of the top custom grass planters in the state planted all our hay using the latest in grass planting technology. Because or the precise manner that our hay was planted, our hay fields are nearly 100% Jiggs, insuring that you the customer get all Jiggs hay and not a lot of less desirable grasses and weeds.

Attention to detail makes for uniform hay production

All of our fields are routinely sprayed for weed control using only the best quality TDA/ EPA approved materials. This also insures that you are feeding only top quality Jiggs Hybrid Bermuda hay and not paying for hay that your horses and cattle can't use.

The pivot point of our 1/2 mile sprinkler system
We irrigate through our 1/2 mile Zimmatic center pivot sprinkler system. Ours is one of the largest in this part of Texas and allows us to apply 2500 gallons/ minute. Unlike other custom operations which either don't have irrigation abilities, or flood irrigate which can dramatically reduce the hay quality, we apply just the right amount at just the right time. This also allows us to conserve our precious water resources.

Our fields are clean and free of weeds and other grasses

Our fields are cut on 21 day intervals which makes Windmill Farms hay the best quality.

We use only New Holland bailers at Windmill Farms. While there are many other good bailing systems, you the customer can be assured that the Windmill Farms hay that you buy is uniform, tight and typically weighs more than other bales that you could choose to buy.
